My work sheds light on an environmentally sustainable profession while highlighting the intrinsic value of underrepresented individuals.
My work documents the lives of waste pickers who predominantly reside in the Dryhook area near Devland, Soweto. I started this project after engaging with waste pickers who operated in my neighbourhood. After speaking with them, I visited a few waste collection sites and gained a deeper understanding of these informal workers and their vocation.
