About The Creative

Lungelo is a Johannesburg-based artist and designer from Pietermaritzburg. He believes that an artist’s choice of medium should be governed by the brief; thus, he is able to move fluidly between various mediums. He typically makes use of digital and traditional illustration, painting and textiles. Lungelo is also skilled in stop-motion storytelling, which he constructs from prints that function as frames. As an interpolator, he uses the music industry practice of rerecording music samples as a conceptual framework for his body of work.
